lucky clover

I feel very lucky to live where I do, do what I love and have my family so close. Thats the inspiration behind on the lucky clovers, which have Bon Chance, Good Luck and Buena Suerte engraved. I sell them as a single charm or on long, short or oval chains.

a rainy day in cambridge, uk

Well, I 've got a snazzy new camera and have started snapping whilst in the uk a few weeks ago and had to wear my wellies to stomp around the garden in chilly cambridge.

wire and rods

Most of our jewellery is made by molds, but there are some pieces you just cant do that way and have to make them individually by hand like the 21 hoop bangle and the matching pendant. By doing it individually each piece is unique and organic. These pieces take a long time to make because the manipulation of the silver rods takes time - and there is no short cut! You have to pass them though the draw plate pictured and reheat accordingly. Its totally worth it tho, everyone loves these pieces and are one of our best sellers. They're cool because they are tactile and interactive.

I'm blogging..

Hello! Welcome to my blog. Here is a bit about myself. My name is Mercedes and I am a silver jewellery designer based in Marbella, southern Spain. The sun shines most days here and its pretty cool living near the sea. I have a little shop and workshop where I create beautiful jewelley in .925 silver for women who want something a bit diferent.  This blog will be updated daily (hopefully as I get to learn how this works) with pictures of new stuff and bits I am working on. I am most happiest when banging around the workshop with my tools. You can check out some of my designs on www.mimosilver.com.

thats all for now,
